Maybe not as drastic as the post title insinuates but never the lessĀ internetnews.com have reported that Google facing possible legal action for content posted on there acquisition YouTube have handed over the details of one of their users, for possible individual prosecution.
The report states that Google have turned the users personal information over to Fox after said user uploaded episodes of the television show 24 a week before they were due to air on Fox TV.
Google may now start to wonder the direction that YouTube is heading in and I would agree, although I could never see the attraction for Google to pay so much for a company thats foundation was copyrighted content sharing.
How will YouTube users react to this news ? Angrily springs to mind. Google have to very very careful how they handle things over at YouTube. After all the community is the site and without it YouTube would simply cease to exist.
